Frequently Asked Questions
What is a retractable fabric pergola?
A retractable fabric pergola is an outdoor shading structure featuring a motorized fabric roof that can open or close depending on the weather and desired comfort level. Unlike fixed patio covers, it allows users to enjoy full sun, partial shade, or overhead protection with the touch of a button. R-WEAVE™ combines modern design with flexible functionality to create a comfortable outdoor living space year-round.
How is R-WEAVE™ different from a retractable awning?
Unlike traditional retractable awnings that are typically wall-mounted and extend outward, R-WEAVE™ is a fully integrated pergola system with its own structural framework. It offers greater stability, larger coverage areas, enhanced wind resistance, integrated gutters and a more architectural appearance. R-WEAVE™ also creates a defined outdoor room feel while delivering premium comfort and aesthetics.
Is the R-WEAVE™ roof fully retractable?
Yes. The R-WEAVE™ fabric roof is fully retractable, allowing you to open or close the canopy depending on sun exposure, weather conditions, or personal preference. When retracted, the system opens up the sky above for a more open-air experience.
Does R-WEAVE™ protect from rain?
Yes. R-WEAVE™ is designed to provide protection from light to rain when the canopy is fully closed. The tensioned fabric and integrated drainage design help channel water away from the covered area, allowing you to continue enjoying your outdoor space comfortably.
Where does the water go when it rains?
Rainwater is directed through the engineered fabric profile and integrated gutter system built into the pergola structure. The water is then channeled discreetly through internal posts and away from the outdoor living area for efficient drainage and a clean appearance.
Is the fabric durable?
Absolutely. R-WEAVE™ uses high-performance outdoor fabric engineered for long-term durability and outdoor exposure. The fabric is resistant to UV rays, fading, mildew, and everyday weather conditions, while maintaining its appearance and performance over time. Azenco offers 10 year Warranty on the fabric.
Can I choose the fabric color?
Yes. R-WEAVE™ is available in a curated selection of premium fabric colors designed to complement a wide range of architectural styles and outdoor environments. This allows homeowners and designers to customize the pergola to match their aesthetic vision.
Can R-WEAVE™ be customized to my space?
Yes. Every R-WEAVE™ pergola is custom-made to fit the specific dimensions and layout of your outdoor space. Multiple configuration options are available, including freestanding or attached installations, allowing the system to adapt to residential or commercial applications.
Can lights, screens, heaters, or fans be added?
Yes. R-WEAVE™ can be equipped with a variety of integrated comfort and lifestyle enhancements, including LED lighting, motorized screens, infrared heaters, and ceiling fans. These options help create a more functional and enjoyable outdoor environment day or night, throughout the seasons.
Why choose R-WEAVE™ instead of a louvered pergola?
R-WEAVE™ offers a fully retractable fabric canopy that creates a light, elegant, and open-air outdoor experience. Its soft architectural design brings warmth and contemporary style while providing flexible sun and weather protection at the touch of a button.
Compared to a louvered pergola, R-WEAVE™can be a more cost-effective solution for homeowners seeking retractability and design flexibility.
For projects requiring maximum durability, advanced environmental resistance, and year-round performance against high winds or heavy snow loads, a louvered system like the R-BLADE™ remains the most robust solution within the Azenco Outdoor product line.
